How to Register on MSTC – Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Visit the Official MSTC Portal

  • Open the MSTC website
  • Click on “Register”

    Choose your role:

  • Buyer Registration (scrap traders, MSMEs, bidders)

  • Seller Registration (PSUs, corporates, institutions)

Step 2: Select Registration Type

For most businesses, this applies:

  • Buyer (E-Auction)

  • Buyer (E-Procurement)

    Choose carefully—wrong selection leads to rejection or bidding restrictions.

Step 3: Fill Business & Personal Details

You will be required to enter:

  • Business name (as per GST)

  • Constitution (Proprietor / Partnership / LLP / Pvt Ltd)

  • PAN & GSTIN

  • Registered address

  • Authorized signatory details

  • Email ID & mobile number (OTP verified)

🔍 Compliance Tip (Leegal Advisory):

GST business activity must match auction category (scrap, metal, trading, etc.).

Step 4: Upload Mandatory Documents

Prepare scanned copies of:

  • PAN Card

  • GST Registration Certificate

  • Aadhaar (authorized person)

  • Cancelled cheque / bank proof

  • Board Resolution / Authorization letter (for companies/LLPs)

📌 File clarity & naming matter—poor uploads delay approval.

Step 5: Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) Mapping

  • Class 3 DSC (Individual / Organization)

  • DSC must belong to the authorized signatory

  • Install DSC utility and map it to your MSTC account

⚠️ Without DSC, you cannot bid, even after registration approval.

Step 6: Submit & Wait for Verification

  • Submit application

  • MSTC conducts internal scrutiny

  • Approval timeline: 2–5 working days (may vary)

You’ll receive:

  • Login credentials

  • Buyer dashboard access

Step 7: Pay EMD & Start Bidding

  • Search live auctions

  • Download catalogue

  • Pay EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) for selected lots

  • Enter live bidding window
