The short answer

Licensed food manufacturers, importers and certain other licensees must file an annual return on FoSCoS by 31 May for the previous financial year, reporting food products handled, quantities and value. Dairy licensees have separate half-yearly returns. Late filing attracts a late fee, commonly Rs 100 per day.
