The short answer

Every individual holding a DIN must complete DIR-3 KYC by 30 September each year. First-time or changed details require the DIR-3 KYC e-form with documents and DSC; if details are unchanged, the simpler DIR-3 KYC-WEB verification can be used. Missing the deadline deactivates the DIN until KYC is completed with a Rs 5,000 fee.
