 Common Technical Errors During Live Bidding on MSTC & Proven Fixes

Live bidding failures are technical, not strategic—and most losses happen due to avoidable system lapses. Below is a field-level troubleshooting playbook used by professional MSTC bidders.

1. DSC Not Detected / DSC Error

Symptoms

  • “DSC not found”

  • “Please insert DSC token”

  • Bid button inactive

Root Causes

  • DSC utility not running

  • Wrong browser or Java version

  • Expired or mismatched DSC

Fix

  • Restart DSC utility (as Administrator)

  • Use Chrome / Edge (latest version)

  • Reinsert USB token

  • Ensure DSC name = authorized signatory on MSTC

Preventive Rule:

Test DSC 1 day before auction—not on bid day.

2. Bid Button Disabled / Greyed Out

Symptoms

  • Cannot click “Submit Bid”

  • Auction visible but inactive

Root Causes

  • EMD not approved

  • Auction not yet live

  • Logged in with sub-user (restricted rights)

Fix

  • Check EMD status → must show “Accepted”

  • Refresh page after auction start time

  • Login using primary bidder credentials

3. Session Timeout / Auto Logout

Symptoms

  • Sudden logout

  • “Session expired” message

Root Causes

  • Inactivity

  • Multiple tabs open

  • Slow internet connection

Fix

  • Login 15–20 minutes early

  • Avoid opening MSTC in multiple tabs

  • Keep clicking safe areas to stay active

  • Use stable wired internet if possible

4. Bid Submitted but Not Reflected

Symptoms

  • Bid confirmation not visible

  • Competitor bid shows but yours doesn’t

Root Causes

  • DSC approval not completed

  • Network lag during submission

  • Browser cache conflict

Fix

  • Wait 5–10 seconds → refresh once

  • Clear cache before auction

  • Avoid double-clicking bid button

📌 Golden Rule:

Never assume a bid is placed unless it appears in bid history.

5. Incorrect Bid Increment Error

Symptoms

  • “Invalid bid amount”

  • “Bid not in correct increment”

Root Causes

  • Manual entry without checking increment

  • Auto-extension increment misunderstanding

Fix

  • Always use system-suggested next bid

  • Re-check increment rules during extensions

6. Page Freezes During Auto-Extension

Symptoms

  • Timer stops

  • Page unresponsive during last minutes

Root Causes

  • High traffic load

  • Low RAM / background apps

  • Browser incompatibility

Fix

  • Do not panic or refresh immediately

  • Wait 10–15 seconds

  • If needed, open a backup browser session (same login)

7. Payment Gateway Error (During EMD / Balance Pay)

Symptoms

  • Payment debited but not shown

  • Gateway timeout

Fix

  • Save UTR / screenshot immediately

  • Wait for bank settlement (usually same day)

  • Raise ticket with MSTC using UTR
