Frequently asked questions
Does the nominee need a DSC?
No. The nominee gives consent in Form INC-3, which is attached to the application. A DSC is needed by the member and directors who sign the incorporation forms, not by the nominee.
Can an NRI be the nominee of an OPC?
Yes, since the 2021 amendment an NRI who is an Indian citizen can be the member or nominee of an OPC. Foreign documents may need notarisation or apostille.
Can a family member's house be the registered office?
Yes. Provide the family member's utility bill and a signed NOC permitting use of the address as the registered office.
Is Aadhaar mandatory for OPC registration?
PAN is mandatory for Indian citizens. Aadhaar is the common ID and address proof, but a passport, voter ID or driving licence can generally be used instead.
