For LLP registration each partner provides PAN (mandatory for Indians), identity and address proof, a photograph, email and mobile, and designated partners need a DSC. The registered office needs a utility bill not older than two months and the owner's NOC. Foreign partners provide an apostilled or consularised passport and address proof.

Frequently asked questions
Do all partners need a digital signature?
Designated partners need a DSC because they sign the incorporation form. Partners who are not designated partners still sign the subscription sheet, which can be handled physically and uploaded, but in practice most LLPs get DSCs for all partners for later filings.
Is a rent agreement mandatory for the registered office?
A rent agreement is needed only if the premises are rented. For owned premises, a recent utility bill and NOC from the owner are sufficient. In both cases the address on the bill must match the declared address.
Is the LLP agreement needed at the time of registration?
No. The LLP agreement is filed after incorporation, in Form 3, within 30 days. However, it helps to agree the key terms before filing FiLLiP so that contribution and profit share details are consistent.
Can contribution be in the form of property or services?
Yes. Contribution can be tangible or intangible property, promissory notes or other benefit, and must be valued. The value must be disclosed in the accounts and supported by a valuation where required.
